CPVC Piping System

Vectus produces the best CPVC pipes in India, the fittings are manufactured using world-class raw material and technology, which makes them ideal for both hot and cold water distribution systems. These pipes are made from special plastic, chemically known as Chlorinated Polyvinyl Chloride, commonly known as CPVC.

What is the difference between PVC and CPVC Pipes?

PVC is a versatile thermoplastic piping and fitting material that is used for commercial and residential plumbing and plumbing applications. CPVC belongs to this same thermoplastic family.

Features

Low thermal expansion: It has a lower coefficient of thermal expansion than alternative plastics, reducing the amount that the pipe expands when hot water is running through it.

No Scale, pit, or leach formation: Even after years of use in the most aggressive conditions, Vectus CPVC pipes and CPVC fittings won't corrode despite low pH water, coastal salt air exposures and corrosive soils.

Fire Resistant: LOI is 60% and hence does not catch fire or sustain burning.

Thermal conductivity & insulation levels: Lower thermal conductivity reduces heat loss and requires reduced insulation levels.

Hot and Cold water compatible: Vectus CPVC Piping System is compatible with both hot and cold water.

Corrosion and Chemical resistant: CPVC has excellent resistance even under the harshest of water conditions so there is no corrosion.

Lower bacterial growth: Bacteria growth with CPVC is far lower than with alternative piping materials - Copper, Steel, and other thermoplastics.

Chlorinated poly (vinyl chloride) is a very strong and rigid thermoplastic material that is mostly used in residential construction. CPVC has a high immunity from chlorinated domestic water and has a higher temperature tolerance as well. CPVC is corrosion-resistant as well and can withstand the test of time. CPVC pipes can withstand high temperatures up to 92-degree which makes them compatible with both hot and cold water applications.

CPVC pipes are expected to last for 50 to 75 years under optimal conditions. Due to the rigorous quality testing, CPVC Pipes and CPVC Fittings maintain long term structural integrity and strength.

CPVC is naturally resistant to the effects of chlorine and chlorine dioxide used to disinfect potable water supplies. CPVC is protected by large chlorine molecules, instead of the hydrogen molecules that surround the backbone of other plastics.

CPVC pipes can withstand longer exposures in direct sunlight. But it is still advisable to protect your pipes from UV exposure by concealing them with an opaque covering or paint them with acrylic-based latex paint. UV radiation cannot penetrate the surface of latex paint.

CPVC pipes and CPVC fittings material is chlorinated, and it is this quality that gives it the advantage in dealing with water treatment chemicals when compared to other materials. Since the pipe already has chlorine molecules, it can effectively block the chlorine from the water supply. Other materials also have a protective chlorine barrier, but they can be degraded due to prolonged chlorine exposure.
